As Alain Lefèvre was preparing for his upcoming concerts and recording of the John Corigliano’s Piano Concerto with conductor Carl St-Clair and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, he revealed with great enthusiasm during an interview for the Los Angeles Times, how much the Yamaha CFIIIS was an absolutely splendid instrument, of an incredible tonal accuracy, equipped with a mechanism allowing extraordinary voicing possibilities. Following another concert given with the PSO, Daniel Cariaga, writing in the Los Angeles Times, also recognized the instrument’s beautiful sound quality in his review: “ Lefèvre achieved one of the most memorable, agressive and probing readings of the ‘Emperor Concerto’ in memory. The bonus proved to be the magnificent - there is no other word - Yamaha piano that Lefèvre played, an instrument even and well spoken in all registers, lavish in sound and powerful throughout.” Not surprising to see that legendary pianists like Sviatoslav Richter and Glenn Gould chose to perform on Yamaha pianos and following their steps, so did Alain Lefèvre, who has become an unconditional and a proud ambassador to this great house, as a Yamaha Artist.
Above the sure quality of the pianos provided by Yamaha in concert and on tour worldwide, Alain Lefèvre also appreciates the artistic involvement and presence of Yamaha in all educational programs, piano competitions and festivals.

L’Actualité

Since over twenty years now, has Alain Lefève made a point of honor to voluntarily visit schools at home and elsewhere in the world, meeting with thousands of children and sharing with them his passion for classical music. Extraordinary accomplice since the beginning, Yamaha has always brought his support, graciously providing him with a piano, whenever possible. Therefore, because of Yamaha’s generosity, Alain Lefèvre has been able to pursue his “musical mission”, allowing classical music to survive and grow stronger amongst the younger generations. Impressed by his artistic dedication towards the children and senior citizens of his community, Mayor Miguel Pulido of Santa Ana at the time, had proclaimed the 22nd of July 1996, to be the “ Alain Lefèvre Day ”. Once again, Yamaha was there to provide a piano for the schools and the nursing homes of Santa Ana.
Alain Lefèvre and Christopher Reeve.
Through the years, Alain Lefèvre was always keen to participate to numerous benefit events for charities and other various causes, with Yamaha as a major sponsor. As a Founder member, this was the case for the launching benefit of the École St-Pierre-Apôtre Foundation for the physically and mentally handicapped children. Another memorable event, was the recital he gave under the auspices of actor Christopher Reeve, who was presiding the international symposium on the spinal cord, organized by the University of Montreal’s Research Center for Neurological Sciences, Dr. Serge Rossignol and the André Sénécal Foundation. Ste-Justine Hospital, Fondation québécoise du cancer, Philou Center, the Foundation de la Maison des Arts Vivants, the Fondation du Centre Jeunesse de Montréal with the collaboration of Cité des Prairies, Le Refuge and Sun Youth, are some of the causes where Alain Lefèvre and Yamaha both took part.
