Alain Lefèvre is proud to be associated with the Festival International de Lanaudière, one of the most prestigious classical music festivals in North America. Each year the Festival presents renowned soloists from at home and abroad in concerts and recitals at the Amphitheatre in Joliette and in various churches in the region.

Initially Alain Lefèvre was invited to be the Festival’s spokesperson in 2005. In this capacity he has served with distinction, spreading the Festival’s message widely and bringing it added renown. Following up on the success of the previous years, and in his role as an artist devoted to furthering the cause of young musicians, Alain’s mandate has been redefined as Artistic Ambassador, which gives him all necessary means to ensure the Festival’s commitment year-round to the new generation of Quebec musicians.
His association with the Festival also ensures his appearance on stage every season. On July 13, 2007, the Festival extended to Alain Lefèvre the honor of giving a solo recital on the stage of the Amphitheatre, an honor that goes only to the biggest names (Mitsuko Uchida or Maxim Vengerov, for instance). He delighted a capacity audience with music of Soler, Rachmaninoff and Schubert. The critics were unanimous. “The triumph of Alain Lefèvre: Quebec pianist Alain Lefèvre delighted listeners with three emotionally complex works by Schubert,” wrote Christophe Huss in Le Devoir. Claude Gingras of La Presse entitled his article “The Alain Lefèvre Festival,” noting the “royal reception” and “thunderous ovation” he received. In his year-end roundup, he placed Alain Lefèvre’s recital among the Top Ten musical events of 2007, along with concerts given by Zubin Mehta, Lara St. John and Kent Nagano.
